| Pastor Kevin Schmidt first
walked in the door of Grace Baptist Church in February of
1985. He and his wife, Doreen, along with their toddler,
Kevin Jr., had recently moved to California from a
ministry in Indiana. Our church had been without a pastor
for several months, and he had accepted the invitation to
come fill the pulpit for a Sunday. God had a different
plan, of course, and that one Sunday has stretched into a
wonderful relationship lasting more than fifteen years.
But we believe God was at work before 1985. Our pastor was
raised in a Christian home, saved at a young age, called
to preach when he was only 12 years old, and trained at
Bob Jones University. During all of those early years, God
knew he would serve here one day. God was preparing him
for us, and us for him. And he continues to do His work!
Today, by His grace, we are still learning together,
encouraging one another and getting to know the Lord in a
greater way. God is so good! |
